It's Time....
It's time....
I've decided it's time to finally pursue a Business degree and move forward with my own dream of owning my own painting company. I know I don't need a piece of paper in order to do so, but since my mind is already so curious about the behind the scenes of every business and how things are done, I figure this direction will give me the greatest advantage of being successful and overcoming my fears of moving forward.
I have learned so much this first week in our readings and videos. I'm learned that it was a normal reaction to have fear in stepping out of our comfort zones. I thought it was just me! I also realized that I am already on my journey in doing what I truly love, as Guy Kawasaki teaches us to do. I also feel I'm already following part of Jeff Shandefer's framework, by focusing on one of my prized talents, and sharing it with others. Because I have given so much of my time and talent in this department to family and friends over the years, others are seeking me out when they think about painting; especially the dreadful trim work. My leads and network have been growing, and I didn't even realize it!
To gain more and more experience, I choose to do most of my work for free (or barter), in order to continue to master my skills. I feel it is the best way for me to apply what I have learned through watching YouTube videos and reading about different techniques online. It brings me great joy to apply this knowledge, to see the homes I've painted sell quickly, and to share my time and talents to friends and family.
I'm extremely excited to finally determine it's time for me to seriously begin this journey, to invest in my future by doing what truly is my passion!
